- Paying attention to the small things in life-which can be both a good and a bad thing-good because it helps you appreciate finer aspects of life-a single ray of sunlight coming thru the window, A getting ready for work..stuff like that..bad because you also tend to obsess about every little ache and pain in your body, which would have gone unnoticed if I were busier at work..
- Reading the newspapers more closely, reading this delightful book on punctuation called 'Eats, Shoots and Leaves'..thanks B for this one.
- Generally trying to stay active in life.
- Planning just the day ahead as the immediate future is still not 'immediate' enough ;)
- Beginning to follow soccer, thanks to the World Cup-boy, its a messy, violent sport!
- Generally being at peace with everything (or attempting to make peace, for sure!). Preparing for the fact that anything that happens in the near future, I'll come to terms with it..lot of changes lined up, so hoping and praying all goes well..
- Trying to finish writing some research papers-there are still some in the pipeline..got to work on them.
- Watching a lot of cooking shows-Nigella rocks! :)

Things I'm doing on vacation
Sunday, June 20, 2010
Update..sort of!
Been on a break since submitting my dissertation, and trust me a vacation is not fun when you're home-bound..there's always reading to do, but I thought I'd just veg out in front of the TV and switch off mentally (doing what normal people would do, like Sheldon says in one episode of Big Bang Theory!) ..guess what? its awful to do that..there's not much thats thought provoking on TV, and most programs are either sad or violent-whatever happened to mindless, slapstick or witty comedy like Seinfeld? The Friends re-re-re-re-reruns are good, but they're getting tiresome as well. As for Scrubs, thats getting a little predictable and Castle a bit violent for my taste. Given limited mobility and constrained choices for movies, the likes of Rajneeti and Ravan are ruled out..the former for violence and the latter for well, just the lack of story! I'd rather read the originals..Mahabharata and Ramayana, respectively!
Took great pleasure in preparing lunch today..felt like I was doing it after ages (which I was!)..have had very gracious relatives visiting recently and they've taken up cooking, leaving me with little else to do..bottomline: I cannot sit idle..gotten too used to activity..have to expand on my activity list and do new things..pottery, sculpting, writing or cooking, perhaps? :)
