Restarted my reading routine. Finished reading D.H.Lawrence's short novel, 'The Fox'. Its a thoughtprovoking, multilayered story. A story of two women, Jill Banford and Nellie March, and one man, Henry who enters their lives, only to change the course of their existence and the outcome of the story. A love triangle like few I've read before, the story has several passages that reflect undercurrents of emotion, unexpressed desire and everything else that remains unsaid in a relationship. The fox in the story while not physically present for the most part, comes to represent the characters' thoughts and bringing to life the emotion that they can't yet express towards one another.
The encounters with the fox are especially noteworthy..psychoanalysts will have a lot of fun dissecting this novel (if they haven't already!) :)
All in all a fun read..I wish I had more time to re-read it and analyse it much better!
